This 30-Minute Beef Stir Fry with Vegetables is a quick and vibrant dish featuring tender beef strips and colorful vegetables in a savory sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights, it's easy to make and incredibly flavorful.
Ingredients
1 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced against the grai
2 tablespoons neutral oil, divided
1 large head of broccoli, cut into small florets
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 large carrot, peeled and thinly sliced
1 cup snow peas
4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch piece fresh ginger, grated
½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
¼ cup beef broth
2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Sliced green onions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce by whisking together soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, cornstarch, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Set aside
- Slice the beef thinly and cut all vegetables into uniform, bite-sized pieces. Mince garlic and grate ginger
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Add half of the beef, sear for 1-2 minutes per side, then remove and set aside. Repeat with remaining beef
- Add the remaining oil to the pan. Stir fry broccoli and carrots for 3-4 minutes
- Add bell peppers, snow peas, and mushrooms. Stir fry for another 2-3 minutes, then add garlic and ginger and stir fry for an additional 30 seconds
- Return cooked beef to the pan, whisk the sauce again, and pour it over the beef and vegetables
- Stir constantly for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve immediately over rice or noodles

Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure the beef sears instead of steams.
