1 cup Packed Light Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Whole Milk or Heavy Cream
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
45 cups Powdered Sugar, sifted


Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the softened butter and packed light brown sugar. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves
  2. Continue to simmer the mixture for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally
  3. Carefully remove the saucepan from the heat and slowly pour in the milk and vanilla extract. Stir until everything is well combined
  4. Transfer the caramel mixture to a heatproof bowl and allow it to cool completely at room temperature
  5. Once cooled, place the mixture in a large mixing bowl and beat it on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes
  6. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing until incorporated
  7. Increase the mixer speed to medium-high and beat for 3-5 minutes until the frosting is light, airy, and fluffy

Notes

Use a good quality butter for the best flavor.

Ensure the caramel mixture is completely cool before adding powdered sugar for the right consistency.

Always sift your powdered sugar to avoid graininess.
