Description
Cajun Salmon with Avocado Lime Sauce is a quick and flavorful meal perfect for busy weeknights. The spicy cajun seasoning pairs beautifully with the creamy avocado lime sauce, making it enjoyable for the whole family.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Prepare the Cajun Seasoning: In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried thyme, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir everything well until you have a uniform spice blend
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Drizzle the olive oil over both sides of the salmon fillets, then generously sprinkle the prepared Cajun seasoning over all sides, pressing gently to make sure it adheres
- In a food processor or blender, combine the scooped-out avocado flesh, fresh cilantro, lime juice, minced garlic, water, salt, and black pepper. Blend until completely smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add more water, one teaspoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the seasoned salmon fillets into the skillet. Cook for 4-6 minutes on the first side
- Gently flip the salmon fillets and continue to cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through
- Transfer the cooked salmon to plates and spoon a generous amount of the avocado lime sauce over each fillet. Serve immediately
Notes
Adjust the cayenne pepper to your spice preference. For milder flavor, reduce or omit it.
To add creaminess to the avocado lime sauce, consider mixing in a tablespoon of Greek yogurt.
