Ingredients
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
6 cloves Garlic, minced
1 ½ cups Orzo Pasta
4 cups Chicken Broth (or Vegetable Broth for vegetarian option)
½ cup Heavy Cream
4 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese, plus extra for serving
½ teaspoon Salt, adjust to taste
¼ teaspoon Black Pepper, adjust to taste
¼ cup Fresh Parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Sauté Aromatics: Melt the olive oil and unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant
- Toast Orzo: Add the orzo to the skillet with the garlic and toast for 2-3 minutes
- Add Broth: Pour in the chicken broth and simmer. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes until most liquid is absorbed
- Create Creamy Sauce: Remove from heat, stir in heavy cream and cream cheese until smooth
- Stir in Parmesan: Add grated Parmesan, salt, and pepper, stirring until melted and creamy
- Garnish and Serve: Transfer to bowls and garnish with parsley and extra Parmesa
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best texture.
Adjust the consistency by adding more broth or cream if needed.
