Ingredients

1 cup Granulated Sugar
1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar
2 Large Eggs
1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
2 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup Heavy Cream
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar (reserved for topping)


Instructions

  1. Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients alternating with heavy cream until just combined
  5. Chill the dough for at least 1 hour
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets
  7. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets and flatten slightly
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golde
  9. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes before transferring
  10. Sprinkle sugar on top of cookies and torch until caramelized
  11. Allow caramelized sugar to harden before serving
