Ingredients
1 cup Unsalted Butter
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar
2 Large Eggs
1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
2 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup Heavy Cream
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar (reserved for topping)
Instructions
- Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt
- Gradually add the dry ingredients alternating with heavy cream until just combined
- Chill the dough for at least 1 hour
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets
- Scoop tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets and flatten slightly
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golde
- Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes before transferring
- Sprinkle sugar on top of cookies and torch until caramelized
- Allow caramelized sugar to harden before serving
