Description
These Deep Dish Pizza Cupcakes are individual mini pizzas that are fun to eat and easy to customize, bringing all the comforting flavors of a classic deep dish pizza into a convenient, mess-free package.
Ingredients
1 (13.8 oz) can Refrigerated Pizza Dough
2 tablespoons Olive Oil, plus extra for greasing
1 cup Prepared Pizza Sauce
2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, divided
1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
1/2 cup Finely Diced Beef Pepperoni
1/4 cup Finely Diced Bell Peppers
1/4 cup Finely Diced Red Onio
1 teaspoon Dried Italian Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
Pinch of Red Pepper Flakes, optional
Fresh Basil Leaves, for garnish, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 12-cup muffin tin with olive oil
- Unroll pizza dough on a floured surface and cut out 12 circles using a 3-inch cookie cutter
- Press each dough circle into the bottom and up the sides of the muffin cups
- Spoon about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce into each dough cup
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by small amounts of pepperoni, bell peppers, and onio
- Top with more mozzarella and a sprinkle of Parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly
- Let cool for 5 minutes in the tin before removing; garnish with fresh basil if desired
Notes
Make sure to grease the muffin tin well to prevent sticking.
Do not overfill the dough cups for even cooking.
If desired, pre-bake the dough cups for a crisper crust.
