- 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
For the Ground Chicken:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 lb lean ground chicken
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 small bunch of green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Orange Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients: fresh orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, orange zest, cornstarch, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, and optional red pepper flakes
- Cook the Ground Chicken: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and ground chicken. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned
- Combine and Simmer: Pour orange sauce over the chicken, stir to coat, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens

Use fresh orange juice for the best flavor.
You can substitute ground chicken with ground turkey or beef based on preference.
