Description
A delicious and easy-to-make breakfast casserole made with flaky croissants, turkey ham, and cheese, perfect for brunch or meal prep.
Ingredients
8 large Croissants, torn into 1–2 inch pieces
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted, plus extra for greasing
12 ounces Sliced Deli Turkey Ham, diced or roughly chopped
2 cups Shredded Gruyère Cheese
10 large Eggs
2 cups Whole Milk
1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
2 tablespoons Fresh Chives, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter
- Tear the croissants into pieces and layer half in the greased baking dish, followed by half the ham and half the cheese. Repeat the layers
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until well combined
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered croissants and gently press down to soak
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight
- Bake uncovered for 45-55 minutes until puffed and golden brown. A knife inserted should come out clea
- Let rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chives, slice, and serve
Notes
Using day-old croissants improves texture by preventing sogginess. If fresh, lightly toast them first.
