Description

These Ham and Cheese Sticks are quick, comforting, and delicious, perfect for after-school snacks, game day appetizers, or breakfast on the go.

1 package (14.1-ounce) Puff Pastry, thawed
6 ounces Deli-sliced Smoked Turkey Breast, thinly sliced
6 ounces Sharp Cheddar Cheese, thinly sliced or shredded
1 large Egg, whisked with 1 tablespoon Water (for egg wash)
1 teaspoon Dried Italian Seasoning (optional)
A pinch of Black Pepper (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Unroll one sheet of thawed puff pastry onto the prepared baking sheet
  3. Layer half of the cheddar cheese evenly over the entire surface of the puff pastry
  4. Layer half of the smoked turkey breast slices over the cheese
  5. Add the remaining half of the cheddar cheese over the deli meat
  6. If using, sprinkle half of the Italian seasoning and a pinch of black pepper over the top cheese layer
  7. Place the second sheet of puff pastry over the layered ingredients and press down to seal the edges
  8. Cut the layered pastry into 1-inch wide strips and twist each strip 2-3 times
  9. Brush the tops with the egg wash
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted
  11. Let cool slightly before serving

Notes

For best results, keep puff pastry cold before use.

Don't overfill the pastry to ensure better puffing.
