Ingredients
4 medium-sized firm apples
1 (8-ounce) round of brie cheese
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamo
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
a pinch of sea salt
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
fresh rosemary sprigs (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish
- Wash and dry the apples, then make thin slices about 3/4 of the way through each apple
- Unwrap the brie cheese and score the top if desired, placing it in the center of the baking dish
- Fan out the apple slices and arrange them around the brie
- In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, honey, thyme, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sea salt
- Brush the mixture over the fanned slices of each apple
