This incredible Honey garlic shrimps, sausage and broccoli dish is a comforting, flavorful, and quick meal that combines succulent shrimp, savory chicken sausage, and tender-crisp broccoli, all coated in a sticky, irresistible honey garlic glaze. Ingredients
1.5 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 lb cooked chicken sausage, sliced into ½-inch rounds
1.5 lbs fresh broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
½ cup honey
¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon sesame oil
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Set aside
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add broccoli, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp. Remove from skillet and set aside
- Add remaining olive oil to the skillet, add chicken sausage rounds, and cook for 3-5 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside
- Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer, cooking for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside
- Pour honey garlic sauce into the skillet, bring to a simmer, whisk in cornstarch slurry, and cook until thickened
- Return shrimp, sausage, and broccoli to the skillet, tossing to coat in sauce, then serve immediately
Notes
Make sure not to overcook the shrimp to avoid a rubbery texture.
