Description

Million Dollar Bacon Crostini is a sweet, spicy, and creamy appetizer perfect for holiday parties and date nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 slices thick-cut bacon
  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup, divided
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 log (4 oz) goat cheese
  • Optional: honey, fig jam, or balsamic glaze

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Lay bacon in a single layer on the rack.

3. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

4. Rub the spice mixture onto each bacon strip, then drizzle with maple syrup.

5. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until bacon is caramelized and crispy.

6. While bacon bakes, brush baguette slices with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

7. Bake crostini on a separate sheet for 7–10 minutes, until golden and crisp.

8. Let bacon cool slightly, then chop into small pieces.

9. Spread goat cheese on each crostini, top with chopped bacon, and drizzle with honey or jam if desired.

10. Serve immediately or arrange on a platter for a festive display.

Notes

Store crostini and bacon separately in airtight containers for up to 3 days.

Assemble crostini just before serving to maintain texture.

Leftover goat cheese can be refrigerated for up to 1 week.

Avoid freezing assembled crostini.
