Ingredients
1 ½ cups All-purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
½ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Ground Cinnamo
¼ teaspoon Ground Nutmeg (optional)
½ cup Unsalted Butter, softened
½ cup Granulated Sugar
½ cup Packed Light Brown Sugar
2 large Eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 ½ cups Mashed Ripe Bananas (about 3–4 medium bananas)
4 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
½ cup Unsalted Butter, softened (for frosting)
2 cups Powdered Sugar, sifted
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (for frosting)
1–2 tablespoons Milk (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pa
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract
- Gently fold in the mashed ripe bananas
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clea
- Let the bars cool completely before frosting
- To make the frosting, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth, then gradually add the powdered sugar until fully incorporated. Add vanilla extract and milk to reach desired consistency
- Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the cooled bars, cut into squares, and serve

Ensure your bananas are very ripe for maximum flavor and moisture.
