Description

This Shrimp Balls Recipe is a family favorite that brings joy to the dinner table with its simple and nourishing ingredients. With a delightful texture and fresh shrimp flavor, it's versatile enough to serve as an appetizer, snack, or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 pounds Raw Shrimp, peeled, deveined, and tails removed
1 large Egg
1/4 cup Cornstarch
2 tablespoons Fresh Chives, finely chopped
1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, grated
1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
Vegetable Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp by ensuring they are thoroughly peeled, deveined, and dried
  2. Combine shrimp with egg, cornstarch, chives, ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper in a food processor
  3. Pulse the mixture until coarse but not pureed
  4. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes
  5. Form the shrimp mixture into balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C)
  7. Fry the shrimp balls for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brow
  8. Drain and serve warm with dipping sauce

Notes

For best results, do not overcrowd the frying pan to ensure even cooking.

Chilling the mixture makes forming the balls easier and enhances flavor.
